Just wondered if anyone had any experience of using one of these - looks good to me - does anyone know what the range is?

Thanks

Hi Oscar
I use a Hahnel remote-not the pro- and it works very well, 50 yards no problem and it doesnt need to be in direct sight, I walked down my road and had 2 houses between myself and my camera and it worked fine, I think the pro is the same but with all the bells and whistles

Oscar not long brought this and brilliant, small, easy to use, simple just what you need in the field. Brought from here http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hahnel-Giga-Pro-Wireless-Nikon/dp/B003462ZV4/ref=pd_cp_ce_2. Lots of good features and works well from some distance away, good luck   :wavey:

Hi Oscar I have the pro and it is a great piece of kit. Had the camera out in my back garden and set it off from the front of the house

Thanks for your help

Does the Nikon version fit all Nikon cameras? Would it fit the D300s? Also, I have seen on their website a 'Pro Remote Control' (http://www.hahnel.ie/index.cfm?page=dslrremotecontrols&id=35&pId=35) which says it can autofocus. Can the Giga T Pro do this as well?

Thanks

Cant help you on the Hahnel but I have one of these http://www.enjoyyourcamera.com/Remote-Cords/Wireless/Infrared/Wireless-Trigger-Remotes/Phottix-Cleon-II-Wireless-Remote-Control-for-Canon-50D-40D-5D-Mark-II-etc::2330.html

It does AF, same half press as a shutter, which is also useful for keeping cabled flash units awake. I have just ordered some of these as they were recommended: http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140524408090&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

Which can be used as flash triggers or shutter trigger! Cheap too ;)

Oscar it comes with different leads to fit all models and yes you can auto-focus  :wavey:

does it still autofocus if you are using back button focus and therefore not half depressing the shutter?

I like mine but have an issue. In continues focus the shutter fires in two shot sequences. There's a short delay between these two shots. Is that normal? Can't find anything in the manual. Appreciate your help.

I have the non pro version and a mate and I use it for badgers - set up and pre- focused with flash guns, it's never failed and works well at up to 50yds. Not sure I'd trust using the remote to focus for me though as I wouldn't trust it to lock on if that makes sense ?
