Maybe not April showers, how about August showers? Back in 2006 I spent a great weekend up on Paradise Divide outside Crested Butte. About lunch time it started raining, didn't let up for about 4 hours, so i had a great nap and watched a movie in my truck. When the rain started slowing down, I grabbed my gear, knowing that a rainbow was a good possibility, and sure enough I got lucky!
Sadly, all I got was this digital snapshot, as the wind and rain were still a little too much to set up the 4x5 safely. But that's OK, at least I was there to witness it!

Sadly?!? I think this is magical Bret! The light, double rainbow, misty mountain due to the rain...beautiful!
I took this in Arches NP near the Devil's Playground. What I have always liked most about it is the veil of rain visible near the most prominent 'bow. I had a plaque made of this and that aspect came through beautifully.
Given that I took this in Nov in New Zealand I would say this is an 'April' image. This is from the airplane ride over the southern alps from Auckland to Queenstown and the blue lake below is Lake Tekapo.

On this spring evening, the Delicate Arch overlook had the usual crowd. The entire western horizon was black with a massive storm system, so everyone left after there was obviously no chance for sunset light on the arch. But I thought the clouds were interesting, and was happy when the sun found a small crack for about 2 minutes. It was worth the hike back in the dark.
Only about 5 drops of rain hit me during this "shower".
Single exposure: Canon 1Ds2, 25-105 IS @ 24mm, f/16, ISO 100, 2 sec.

Storm approaching at last light on Elephant Butte. I took this shot last spring in Arches National Park. The ensuing rain, wind, and generally crappy weather kept us from taking any photographs or even going outside the following day.

Great shots everyone! Bill, the light on those clouds is unbelievable!
Richie, you're a cruel man: April means wind and fire to us New Mexicans, not showers. Lucky for me, we just had a little storm last week, and even a few drops of rain. Nothing quite like that smell of rainy weather in the desert! This shot is from the Ojito Wilderness west of Albuquerque.

Those are some scary looking clouds, Jackson!

Hate to admit it, Bill, but this is the first I've heard of it, and the deadline was a few days ago. Guess I'm not on enough mailing lists. It looks like a really cool project though, showcasing some great under-appreciated country. I'll have to try and catch the exhibit.
Wow..some stunning shots above! This one is a bit of a stretch since technically I shot this at the end of March a couple weeks ago, but it is showers none the less.

About 5 minutes after this shot it poured and poured and poured some more, for 8 straight hours...

Very nice images submitted so far.
This was taken a few days ago over Easter weekend in Valley of Fire. A nice cloud and some showers hovered over and behind Gibraltar Rock.

Some stunning shots here...I took this last Saturday during a dreary, rainy day in Moab. I drove up into the clouds in the La Sal Mountains and found this scene, where a fire had burned through the valley. Here's a shot from a few years ago of the actual fire. http://www.gcollier.com/Forest-Fire.html
