I recently made my first post to the Photo Art Gallery with an impressionistic motion blur of redbud's and forest trees.
Since doing that I've had the time to look deeper into the previous postings on that forum and see that the artistic style I was going for seems to be somewhat commonplace (albeit new for me) and as such viewed with indifference in many cases.
It seems interesting that people would take that position because how many millions of sharply focused scenic landscapes of mountains, lakes and oceans have we seen shot in warm light? How many unique flower and avian images are there really? Do those of you who have grown bored with a motion blurred style of image question the other genre's of images on the same pretense?
The shear magnitude of people making images nowadays predicts that every style of photographic image is going to be created in ad nauseam.
Just wondering what the overriding opinion is on the subject. Thanks!

Don't worry about posting in a style that's been done before. People do that all the time and it's actually a good thing. To give an example: For a while in photo art, the Fractalius filter was very popular. Many of us not only enjoyed using that filter, but also liked to see what other people did with it. And it's still fun to create and see other people's photo art in that style.
The image you posted in photo art is unique and very beautiful. I hope that you keep posting in that style or any other style that your like.

Thanks Barb. I wasn't concerned about my particular post, I needed to stretch my photographic wings as it were and truly enjoyed doing something totally out of the ordinary for me whether it was widely received or not. I was just surprised to read some comments to the effect of how the motion blur style was boring and cliche. The same could be said for every style of photography. I certainly haven't read every thread on NPN so maybe the same has been said about other styles.
I don't anticipate building a whole portfolio of motion blurred images but the exercise is fun right now and helping me to expand the way I see the world. And that's always a good thing!
