Thanks to a hard drive crash, I elected to recently upgrade to Win 7. I'm adapting, but one major irritant is that it defaults to thumbnails. Is there a way to make it default system wide to list/detail view instead of doing it manually directory by directory? Thanks.

Sure Rob. Open a window and set the View to how you want it.Then do this:
-Click the Organize menu button and hover over Layout
-Select Menu Bar on the flyout menu. Now the good ol' menus are back!
-Click Tools-->Folder Options...
-When the small window pops up, click the second tab, "View"
-On there is the button you need: Apply To Folders
-Click that, and all of your folders will be just like the one you're in.

Thanks, Paul, that seems to have worked. CS5 is still using the thumbnails though; is there a way to make it comply with the rest of the system?

Strange, first time in went back into CS5 after making the change, I saw thumbnails. I shut it down, and reloaded, and now it is using list format, which is good :).

Great! Also, this codec is excellent if you want to view your RAW files right in Windows Explorer with Windows 7:
Been using it since last year with zero problems. $15, but worth it to me... I don't need Adobe Bridge to weed through and get rid of obvious klunker shots.
