What's Wrong Here?
Many of California's highways and ramps are in terrible shape, with huge potholes and cracks. Some are finally starting to be fixed in our area.
In it's infinite wisdom, the CalTrans workers put this up on a local ramp today.
See anything wrong here? (and I don't mean the long-past date)

How about NOW?
Yup, it's an OFF-ramp.

Too funny.

I'm from the government, and I'm here to help you! Yeah, right!

Maybe the person who put the sign up used to live in one of those countries that drive on the wrong side of the road...... Oh wait your in CA....... that explains it (maybe)

It's a 'sign' of the times, in California.

Did you read the other side of the sign? JK.

Richard - there is no other side - just the blank back of the sign I showed. That's what drew me to look behind me after I passed it, coming down the off-ramp.

Here's my guess - they put the sign up backwards because they aren't ready for it to be put in use (hence the incorrect dates). When they are ready to do the work, they will turn it around and change the dates. It's like when construction crews line the highway with cones but they aren't put into use for a few days - they are just setting things up.

 Hey, Luke! Stop making sense! We were having fun bashing Caltrans!

Did you hear that Caltrans laid off 500 workers? Yep, it's true. Someone designed a shovel that would stand up by itself!

Logical guess, Luke - but, unfortunately, the work started today and the ramp is closed off at the freeway exit - with this sign still in place and facing the same direction.

That summarizes national politics nicely, Sandy! :toast:

It works if you are driving in reverse!
