Here is another image from my Painted Hills trip. This one is a (relatively) wide angle perspective (pt. 3 and 4 later in the week will be 100-400mm). I did a couple compositions that were 3-4 shot tonemapped images, but I think I like the single shot version best:

ISO 100, f/19, 1/90s at 24mm (ASP-C)

Such an amazing formation in contrast to the regional surroundings shown in your image. Nice shot.

I like this perspective a lot, Marylynne. The colors are wonderful and the lighting is nice. The clouds are a nice touch too.

This is a great overall shot that puts a perspective on the Painted Hills. I like how the different layers add up. (I took a similar pano when I was there.)

Great job with this one as well Marylynne. This is my favorite perspective at the Painted Hills. I might consider darkening the sky/clouds just a little, but this is a minor nit.

Here is one more variation on this perspective: this one is a 4 shot hdr tonemapped for the most photographic and natural effect.

I think that's one of the best most natural HDRs I've ever seen. Nice.
