Does anyone know if Olympus is coming out with an up-grade to this camera anytime soon? I have searched the web and can't find anything, but since this was released in 2009 they must have something in the works. If not does anyone know of a comparable set up with good quality interchangeable lenses? Thanks, doing this for a friend who's looking for something like this.

Did you see this rumor about possible no more after the E5? (dated from last year)

Pam, Doug is right-on. My good friend is a dedicated Olympus shooter (has the E-1 and E-3), and was mentioning to me exactly what Doug's link says.

Too bad, seems to be a great little line of cameras. Jack Brauer uses one and that's a good enough testimonial for me. B and H and Adorama are both offering the 620 (refurbished) at amazing prices (some with a Zuiko lens or two). I will steer her that way.

Hi Pam, I don't actually use the E-620 anymore (Canon shooter nowadays), but I did shoot the E-420 and E-620 in addition to the 4x5 for several years, as lighter alternative options. The E-620 is indeed a sweet camera, one of my alltime favorites (when paired with the 12-60mm Zuiko lens). That combo is the swiss army knife of cameras.

As someone who can't afford to escape the Olympus system, it was also disappointing to read that Olympus is abandoning the DSLR market. I figured that out by reading their corporate annual report late last year.
The one good thing that I keep telling myself is that my Olympus cameras are all smaller than the other brands, which becomes nice on longer hikes. However, the poor low-light performance is often a big disappointment that I wish I could afford to escape.
I'm currently using an E-3 and have an E-510 for my backup.
