I have gotten feed-back on my posted images saying that they need to
be of a 'larger size' to be properly evaluated. Well..a problem for me
in that regard is that the posting size limit appears to be no larger
than 300 KB. Also, I don't have any Photo Shop or similar software now
at my disposal. So,just how am I to go about increasing the pixel size of my posted images? Note: ALL of my images are scanned in from photo
transparency images (either 35mm or 6x6cm). Since they don't originate
from digital imaging, perhaps this is central to the problem at hand?

Jeff, you WILL need some form of photo software to resize your 35mm scans. Photoshop Elements is about $99 and will do the job. More info on file sizes in the Posting Guidelines.

How are you generating the jpegs that you are now posting? Are you doing the scanning or are you using a commercial service? What size (pixels wide by pixels high) is the output of the process you now use?
300kb is the maximum file size allowed for the small image that is also limited to 720 pixels on the long side. When someone mentions wanting to see a larger image they are referring to the pixel dimensions not the kb size of the file. The optional larger image you are allowed to post can be 1200 pixels on the longest side and up to 500kb in file size.
As Jim indicates you really need some application to get the most out of your images, whether they are from a digital camera or a film scan.
