I shoot mostly macro. I am considering purchasing a Canon Right Angle Finder - which attaches to the viewfinder - to assist with the really low macro shots. Does anyone have experience with this device, or something similar, pro or con? Thanks for your input.

I have one, but don't use it very often. Mine's a Nikon, but I'm sure they're the same thing. It works ok, but I don't like it as well as viewing through the viewfinder, but sometimes that's just impractical.

I have a right angle finder and find it to be incredibly useful. It helps when the camera is low and difficult to see through the viewfinder, it helps with waist level shots, etc. It's not something I use on every outing, but there are times it has helped me to capture shots that would have been very awkward without.

I have one made by FotoDiox that has a magnifying feature. I don't use is t a lot but it beats lying on my belly for really low shots and the magnifier helps with focus.

Doris I have Canon's angle finder and "find" it to be very useful in certain shooting situations. I don't use it much but when I do, I feel it was well worth the money.
I use a right angle finder with a Nikon camera. I don't use it often but it is very useful when I do. However I found the high price of the Nikon daunting and I notice the Canon finder is also costly. I ended up with a Seagull brand finder from China that I purchased on eBay for about $30. I suspect they aren't the best made products in the world and I haven't directly compared to the Nikon but it does everything I want. I find the image quality and the build quality to be perfectly acceptable. I searched forums before purchasing and found mostly positive comments from other users. Given that it gets only occasional use I think I made a good choice. So there's another option for you, if you're interested. A search for "Canon right angle finder" or something similar on eBay will find many sellers.
I have one and find it quite useful for low angle shots. Mine, too, has the added bonus of a 1.4/2.o boost in magnification. This is very useful when manual critical focus is important. My brand is Minolta and I use it with my SONYa900.
