Anyone who has been on here for the past couple of years probably knows the story or my first visit to Compton's Double Falls on Whitaker Creek. Besides my embarrassing getting lost thing my images were only so so..so it was time for a do-over today.
And there is always something interesting with my trips and today was no exception. After dropping down to Whitaker the first two side branches were dry and very little flow in Whitaker so I bailed back to the vehicle in search of better flow. I headed to Lost Valley where I found things all but dry...now on to Smith Creek where I find a bunch of cars and a brand new tall SIGN that can easily be seen from the road!
So deciding to at least practice my GPS sort of skills I headed back up Cave Mountain and decided to head to Compton's anyway to practice. Good thing I did as it was still running as a double but at a low flow. By now it is partly cloudy so I spent 3 hours there waiting for clouds to cover the scene for me. Wind was a problem but today was for image improvement..not wall hangers...so here is one....

Excellent shot Bob. Including several elements makes for a great composition.
Too bad you didn't have Jan for a taxi.

Nice photo--and you had to work for it.
On my monitor I get blue fringing in leaves next to the sky.
If possible, I would adjust the "hue" for a slight blue sky tint.
Slight levelling was firest thought but it appears the part between the 2-falls is level.

Glad you made it safe and sound Bob. Looks like a little less water than the weekend before but still running nice. The greens on my monitor are way too saturated though. Love the angle.
