Mods...not sure which forum this belongs in. Please move if it fits better somewhere else.

ALERT!
There is a new "service" called Bo.lt that allows anyone to copy your entire website (including your copyrighted photos and content), modify it in any way they want, and then publish it!  You can read about it here.

The owners of this "service" say they are protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (USC Section 512) ("DMCA"). I seriously doubt this and can see many, many copyright infringement lawsuits coming for these guys. The owners also have the twisted belief that you (the person whose website was copied) will get more benefit from this than harm. Again, doubtful.

Just thought you all would want to know about this. Would be interested in your thoughts....

There has been software for years that allowed the capture (copying) of entire sites. Even the average browser allows you to save the current page. Changing it is a bit tougher unless you know how to recode it. The difference here is that changing and republishing is made easier. Ostensibly the changed page still links back to yours and it is merely a "social media" way to share web sites but there is major potential there for abuse as well. As initially imagined and described in the article, a means for non-tech marketers to make quick changes to existing web pages they own, it sounds like a great tool. The extension of it to modifying any website smacks of copyright violation.
