I actually like the hoodoo--but the shot looks a tad overexposed to me.

I agree with the over exposure and that little chunk of blue seems somewhat distracting...nice location and if you are in the area again it would definitely be worth a retry.

Overall, a pretty cool image, David. I like it. I do agree with John though about the hoodoo. Visually, it stops me in my tracks. The blown out areas in the sky bug me more though. Do you have enough headroom in the original file to fix those?

Agreed on all counts, funny how you get stuck on an image and can't see all the little things wrong with it, thanks all. Here's another try, still not happy with it but feel it's better
Now this one works much better for me, David!
Most everything in the image is sweeping from fore to aft in a pleasing arc, the contrast and color are better and the skies are much more dramatic.

Love the new image!

David, I prefer the second in that the curving river is more prevalent. Nice clouds in each. There appears to be some darker splotching on the right horizon bluffs that catches my attention.

I think I like the repost better, it IS awesome, but this is a rare disagreement with John, in that I don't mind the hoodoo that you do so well.

Thanks guys, you're right Doug there is some spotty areas I was having real troubles blending on the horizon, normally I deal with this well but this one was kicking my butt, spent a lot of time and still couldn't get it right I may give it another go at some point
