Ive eyed this puny flat top everytime i drive through Texas Creek. I finally decided to brave the noise and smell of ATVs (fortunately, only ran into one group on the 6 mile hike up) and make the trip to scout things out yesterday. The views were fantastic--definitely worth a return trip. This location would be incredible after a big snowfall. Im really surprised it hasnt received more attention from photogs--seems only a handful of bikers and hunters seem to know about it. Heres an introduction, in mid day light
1) the expansive summit. The N winds were howling yesterday!
Never heard of this place 'til now. You really did the area justice with these images. Stellar processing throughout.
They're all real good, but #3 & #5 really stand out for me.
Thanks guys!
Paul, yes thats the Sangres, you get a great sweeping view of the range from up there. You could probably get a Jeep up there but its a bit narrow in spots, i think mostly ATVs and bikers head up--the end of the road is visible in pic#1

Preference to the first image. The shadows streaking down the slope are nice. Think i'd crop the dark clouds of the top edge.
The views should be very nice with first/last light.

I like all the odd-numbered shots a lot! Gonna have to check this place out. The foreground textures in #3 are mind-blowing.
