I've been printing on Moab Entrada for 4-5 years and have been very pleased overall. Occasionally there seems to be a little flaking, even though I carefully brush it before printing. As well as I like Entrada, I know there's been some new papers developed in the last few years that might be better in terms of gamut and Dmax. I print 95% in color, and prefer matte paper, so please limit your suggestions to that arena. Thanks in advance.

Hey Bill, the Premium Presentation paper from Epson has worked fine for me, it was formally Enhanced Matte paper I believe.

Moab Entrada Rag - I've really enjoyed the results on it.

There are a few folks that live and breath by Moab's Somerset Enhanced Velvet. I just got a sample from Moab Paper but haven't printed on it yet. You have to call or email but they will send a couple 8½x11" sheets. ICC Profiles are downloadable right on the product page. Moab's willingness to send samples is a huge plus. I'm sure other places do that as well, such as Red River Paper.

Now you've got me going on this Bill! I just ordered a sample of their Somerset Museum Rag which offers a bit more smoothness but still in a cotton feel, and boasts richer blacks. Maybe ask for a sample of that also!

Hey Bill,
I've been printing on "hahnemuhle photo rag bright white" and i love it!
It just has that little bit of texture to it and the color richness is fantastic.

I suggest requesting a sample pack from hahnemuhle, it contains a sheet of all of the fine art papers.

Wim.

Epson's Premium Matte is good but recently I've started using their Velvet Art paper and love it.

Red River Paper Aurora Fine Art Natural. Very economical alternative. Similar to Moab Entrada. Have not had a problem with flaking.

Hahnemuhle Photo Rag 310 gsm is what I've been using; and I'm going to try the Red River Aurora cotton rag.

Hahnemuhle Photo Rag

I should add that a custom paper profile with the Hahnemuhle Photo Rag helped a LOT. Not that it was bad with the canned profile, the custom definitely improved things. Sometimes the custom makes a big diff, sometimes much less. I got my profile from Michael Gordon.
