I've always really dug this spot along the way to the PH. Erik and I stopped by here on our last trip out and about Central Oregon. I was just looking through some delete candidates and came upone this scene with such a high dynamic range. I enjoyed the view while shooting this, and the clouds and light were pretty nice too. I knew that it would be difficult to capture in the final version so I did some cut and pasting.
I took the clouds out of my exposure for the sky, and placed it in the version exposed for the cliffs. My question is...what do you see here? Is it too 3-d looking, and I should work on making the hill/cliff and skyline blend better?

It looks kind of dark from here......it's kind of hard to assess the "3-d looking" issue without lightening up....IMHO of course....

Exposure is flawless IMO. Excellent exposure control, Rick. I'd say your efforts were successful. I can't find fault with this one.

It's cool! I don't think you need that top line of clouds.

Nice one Rick. I remember you taking this. That last line of hills doesn't look quite right. I almost looks like it's covered in snow.
