Stacking Filter Question

I have one of those thin-mount polarizer filters and was wondering if there would be a problem if I screwed a neutral density filter on first and then screw the polarizer filter on second?

Thanks for your help

There shouldn't be any issue with that Dottie. The ND will cut the polarized light the same way it would cut the unpolarized light.

Dottie,

I believe there will not be any problems doing this. Here's a couple of tips, though...

To reduce the risk of flare, be sure all the glass surfaces are really clean. Also, use a good lenshade.

Be careful if you have sky in the shot. With the added ND, it may be difficult to notice any uneven polarization.

The only problem with stacking filters and the lens shade could be some vignetting too - so check your corners if that's a concern!
