Ive had my eyes peeled on the Super Outbreak in the Southeast today (worst ive seen in 15 years) but in between tornadoes i happened to notice that this weekend may be (ironically) one of the better chances GOG and CO Springs has had this year of getting some SNOW! A nice way to end April--hope you can get out for some photos (i plan on it!)

Oh sure. After your last "can't miss" forecast, you expect us to fall for another one?

If it wasn't for what it will do to our blooming flowers, I hope you are right this time...

Thanks for the heads-up, Stan! Camera at the ready! What incredible footage coming out of the Southeast. Incredible monsters churning things up out there. My thoughts go out to the people in AL and elsewhere as they assess the damage and loss of life involved.

I'm thinking of heading to hanging lake if anyone wants to come along, seems like it would be a good place for an overcast day

Jim, I never promise anything (hence the word "may" ) Especially this season, when all of the storms have been overforecast by the computer models until the last minute. Im just giving you a potential heads up, which you can ignore. The Denver area may very well end up with nothing from this storm. Im specifically eyeing Pikes Peak south, the West and Sangres are where im looking to go.

No overforecasting for here- 0% precip. Just those nasty pressure gradients and resulting 25-45 mph winds.

Not really much going on in the Springs...comes down, sticks to foliage, then melts (and repeats). But I may drive over to the GoG to check things out. If it keeps up, it might look good in the morning before it has a chance to melt off.

Thanks for the reports! Unfortunately, looks like a big bust for Springs. At least the mountains got some good snow though. To give you an idea of how badly our computer forecasts have been this season, when i first posted this, one model was showing over a foot of snow for GOG. I knew that was going to be wrong, but i thought it might at least get a couple inches--oh well, just didnt happen this La Nina Season. Theres always next year...
