Piney Lake
I was looking through last year's stuff and came across this shot. I spent about 4 hours here that day clicking away. My plan this summer is to backpack in a little south of here and catch a few sunrises and sunsets, and hopefully a few trout!

The zoom comp is different than your typical Piney Lake shot. It works well for me. I'm wondering if the zoom comp is the way to go from here on out considering all of the Pine Beetle kill that's taking over the valley. That snow and the clouds certainly adds to the excellent all around image too. This looks like mid to early June?

Wow...pretty dramatic scenery here!! Looks like a bit of the Orton effect or some such? Looks pretty nice here.
I wouldn't mind seeing a bit more detail in the pine forest on the right and in the forest's reflection.
I sure enjoy landscapes taken with a telephoto lens, and you nailed it here.

I like the mottled light here. Possibly a little more shadow detail, but not too much brighter that you lose the mood.

Like John, I'd like to see more detail, but this is a terrific composition.

Composition is well balanced. Like the sharp contrast of the mountains and the meadow. Lighting makes the shot great.
