OT: Back from the Alps!
I am happy to be back home in Ouray after spending the winter in Europe! I was there from November - April, and during that time I snapped a few photos.

I compiled a gallery of my favorites here: http://www.widerange.org/gallery/winter-in-the-alps/

Enjoy! :toast:

P.S. - Now that I'm back in Colorado I hope to post more and participate more on the forum.

Good to see you made it back safe and sound from your epic winter extravaganza! If was great fun following your adventures. I've always dreamed of visiting Switzerland. I Absolutely Love the 2 sunset shots - Griessental Sunset and Schauinsland Sunset!

Geez, a whole winter over there and this is all you got? Weak. My grandmother could do better, and she's been dead for 20 years.

But seriously, this is a monumental collection of images, Jack. I can't say it's an improvement over some of your other globe-trotting photo excursions, because those are all so good, too. This certainly adds to the legend that is your photo collection.

Welcome back! Nice set of pics--but a few stand out for me as being top dogs, the ones i would want on my wall:
Konkordia moonlight
Oberaarjoch sunrise
Pala in the clouds
ReissendNollen above the clouds.

Thanks all!

Todd - Yeah, actually it's really not a whole lot for six months! Seriously. Much of my time was spent snowboarding, and even more time just generally relaxing and drinking hefeweisens! :toast:

Stan - I'm glad you mentioned "Pala in the Clouds" - not a popping photo, but one of my faves.

Welcome back, Mountain Photographer.... to the Switzerland of errr... America. I followed along on your blog all winter and loved seeing the images unfold and to see them all in one place is awesome! Clearly you accomplished some life list stuff over there and it's great that you were able to juggle so many priorities. :toast:

Some great stuff! Reissend Nollen Above the Clouds, Matterhorn Moonlight, and Cloudy Fleckistock are a few that stood out for me...

Super cool portfolio as always! Really love the shot posted here and the Cimon de Pala #2 shot. What a winter wonderland, some day, I'll have to make that trip.
