Black-crowned Night Heron
Captured this heron this morning at City Park in Denver. Quite a few were there collecting nesting material. Thanks for looking.

Another great shot from City Park Dan!. Love the light and the timing of the shot, those red eyes just jump right out - one of these days I'll have to pay the park a visit!.

Awesome capture Dan! I really like the large branch this one has. BTW, thanks for the email. I almost went this morning, but would have had a hard time leaving when I had to since I had to be up in Loveland early this morning to spend time with my mom this weekend.

Now, how perfect is this one?
Not one bit of that branch obscures the bird in any significant way. Great light, great detail on the bird, and even a nice sky.
It's a real privilege viewing your photography here, Dan! :toast:

So where's this nest builder's tool belt? He's got wood but no tools! Some home builder!
This is a great shot and like John said, not a branch obscuring the bird !

Cool shot. The way the branches almost exactly mimic the bird's body parts and their positions makes this one unique.
