I see that on a lot of avian posts the poster will show the Exposure Compensation on their camera along with the other EFIF data. When I look at my photos in Lightroom and Photoshop, I would like my EC information to show up in order to help me evaluate what I'm doing. My EC settings, however, never are listed among the other data. Is this because my camera (Canon 5D)is not recording the EC as part of the EXIF data and therefore there is nothing I can do to get this info? Or have I got something set improperly in the camera or Lightroom or Photoshop that is not allowing me to see the EC? Thanks for any help you can give.

Carol: Your 5D is certainly recording the exposure compensation setting. In Lightroom click the View Menu option, then View Options. Under the Loupe 1 (or 2) Info options, you can choose to have "Exposure Bias" as one of the options. Choosing that will show you the Exposure Compensation

Here's a screen shot:

Should have added that you can toggle through the info in the "Loupe" displays by simply hitting the "I" key
