Flaming Pinyon
I spent a day at Dinosaur National Monument. I found this twisted Pinyon husk while hiking along one of the trails above the canyons.

Interesting lines, texture, and color. Unfortunately, the BG is detracting from the beautiful pinon.

Interesting image. You might consider some editing to sharpen the focus on the flames and removing the elements that do not contribute.

This is a very cool tree you found. I'll sort of echo what others have said. I might have just zoomed in on the patterns on the tree and made this more of an abstract image. The background and other branches, to me, aren't necessary for this photo.

I love the patterns you found and captured here, Howard.
I'll throw my lot in with the others, and offer a couple of recommendations. I think you could either crop out all except the pattern or burn down the background of all except the pattern so the viewers' eyes are focused right on that compelling limb.

Great find! I have to agree with the others: the patterns (flames) should be emphasized.

My thoughts echo everyone else's as far as the background, but good eye for seeing this.

Thanks, everyone for the helpful feedback. Please let me know if this comes closer to what you had in mind.

Not really, Howard. It's cropped a bit too tight now. Perhaps something more like what's above?

P.S.

Did you ever get your monitor issues sorted out?
