My photo forays have been few and far between for the last few months, but I did manage to get up to RMNP a couple of weeks ago. The snow and fog made for some great atmospherics and I used a slight Orton blend to try to bring that out in this image. All comments appreciated.
Very nice work Paul, both on the composition and the processing. I like the subtle use of the Orton effect, it gives the image real dimensionality and pops it out from the background.
This is absolutely gorgeous! The processing is picture perfect, too.
So glad you were able to find a tree like this and photograph it under these ideal conditions.
Nothin' wrong with 'few and far between' outings when you can score results like this!
I immediate thought how nice this would look up on a wall. The wavy branches opposing each other and the soft pastel background with still enough detail make this very appealing. I might be tempted to crop just a minute amount off the left to prefectly center the trunk as it is so close to center already.

Two very big thumbs up! I really like how the background is subtlely supportive of the forrest feeling without distracting from the isolated tree. A beautifully unique image of a common subject.
