Yuk! This is the reason I'm not in the woods as much this year. When I grew up around Madison in the 40's and 50' we never saw a tick and I was in the woods almost daily during the spring, summer and fall. Times have changed.
I hope your daughter doesn't have any ill effects from the tick. The ticks are thick this year.

My wife, the dog and I went for a 30 minute walk the a couple of weeks ago. It was 43 degrees out so I thought that would decrease the tick activity. I was wrong. I pulled 8 ticks off my wife, on the way home I had to pull over and inspect her for more (she kinda freaked out). I turned around and saw 2 crawling on the dog's head, when we arrived home I brushed out my tick treated dog and found 9 more. The next day they had a local news story about how it was going to be a huge year for tick numbers in Minnesota. The bad part is most of these ticks were deer ticks. Spray yourself before you go out shooting! That's my advice.
I didn't find any ticks on me. Maybe it was a color attraction thing. The dog has some white in his coat and my wife was wearing a white jacket. Don't know if ticks have an attraction to certain colors or not. It was just weird that they both had that many ticks and I didn't have a sigle one, and I didn't use any repellent.
