Looking for anyone who has visited the Baie de Somme in France? A good chance I will be in the area beginning of June and wonder if it is worth a visit, or better put, worth taking my 500 f4 with me ;)

Hi Neil,

Judging by the response so far, nobody on the forum has been to this site. Living near the channel ports, I used to pop over often and northern France as a whole is much neglected by naturalists. I would suggest you check this web site out:

http://www.baiedesomme.fr/la-maison-de-la-baie-de-somme-et-de-l-oiseau-decouverte-de-la-faune-et-de-la-flore-de-la-baie--ene27.html

I think it would be worthwhile taking your 500mm, but if my own experiences in the wider area of the north France coastare anything to go by, taking a good macro lens for insects, reptiles and amphibians would also be worthwhile.

Thankyou David for the reply. As my wife comes from the Lille area we are going back there for 10 days in June and we fancy a few days away. Since we are most likely driving I will take the 500 as I have no macro lens ;) and let you know how it went.
