Bighorn ram portrait
There was an impressive herd of 12+ bighorn rams along Hwy-34 in Big Thompson Canyon on Friday, and one fine specimen was kind enough to cross the road and graze right by my truck. I sat down on the gravel shoulder right next to my passenger side door to get a better perspective, which he didn't seem to like too much, so he gave me the stink eye and headed back over to his buddies. Sorry pal!

Oh geez, I just noticed the powerline support wire in the background. Oops! I'll fix it for other uses, won't bother for here.

Very cool! He doesn't look too concerned with you. Looks like he and his buddies just engaged in a little sesion with the hooka.

Why buy expensive telephoto lenses when the wildlife comes to you! I like all the scrapes and nicks on his nose and horns, great detail.

A wonderfully lit portrait! I also like the all of the detail you captured here. Is the guy wire post what's growing out of his back?

John, yes that's it, with the yellow sheath.

Nice detail in the ram, but I wish there was less detail in the BG.

You have him lit well to show the detail, and he seems to jump away from the background well due to his sharpness and the dof.
The brighter rock? along the bottom edge catches my eye a little.

A Veteran of many battles Im sure. Great shot. I like the detail in the background as is. It gives enough detail and blur. I like it.

I am with DS on this...would like to see less detail in BG, but overall pleasing for sure and good detail Todd.

Great detail in the face. Definitely show experience. You might have captured the Morgan Freeman of the Bighorns.

Great portrait, Todd. I'd prefer a bit less detail in the BG, but that's not a deal breaker.
