I was wondering if anyone could suggest a good, affordable framer, preferably close to Lakewood. I've always used RCF, but I haven't been able get ahold of them to make an appointment the last two weeks and need to get this done fairly fast (preferably as soon as next week).

I don't think ready-made mats are an option, as I need a black suede matt with a black wooden frame and colored inner mat that shows through (about 1/4" wide) around the middle of the black mat (called French-cut, I think).

Grant,
Check out City Frames located at 7th and Clarkson. He is a bit pricey, but you can make an appointment and he will get the work done on time. He did some gallery framing for me and the quality is superior. See cityframes.net.

Melanie at Metro Frame Works on 44th and Tennyson has done well by CAZ and I since we opened the gallery. I can't comment on how her prices compare but she does good work and could probably meet your schedule.

There is an excellent framer on Colfax just east of Kipling. Can't remember the name off the top of my head, but I like their work.

Thanks for feedback! I called a couple places and they couldn't do French cut mats. I finally got ahold of RCF, so I'll have them do it.
