Eyeing Turret Arch
I finally processed an image from our Moab get together a couple of weeks ago. I have been too busy with work and getting ready for my daughters graduation. It was great to meet everyone that was in Moab. :toast:

This image was taken in the Windows area as the sun was starting to come up on Sunday morning. We found out that once the sun does rise it puts a shadow over the window and Turret this time of year. I would be interested in hearing your comments.

Thanks,

Tim

I like the soft pre-dawn light and the blue-red contrast.

Do you have one with full sunlight at the end of the shoot for contrast?

Hi Tim, it was nice meeting you. It was certainly unfortunate to have the shadow mess up the sunrise shot, but so it goes. This looks great and the pre-dawn light is not too harsh. However, it does seem a bit oversaturated in the blues. I also see some strange halo/edging on Turret Arch. That might be from a blend or just over sharpening? It might just be on the web version as well, but you might take a look at it on a large version.

I also like the great pre-dawn light on the monoliths, but the blues are a bit too electric for my taste.
It was a real pleasure meeting you last weekend, Tim!

+1 on the blues. It looks like gorgeous soft pre-dawn light and a great comp! Play with the color and it's a winner to me.

It was great to meet you, too, Tim! Great comp! Have fun working with this one!

Hi Tim - it was great to meet you in Moab. I like processing for the sandstone but agree that tuning down the blues a bit would really make this image sing.

All - Thanks for the comments and feedback. I made some changes to see how you like this improvement.

Bill, no I never really got one that was good with sunlight. There was such a shadow on the right side of the eye that I really did not like those. I can process one if you want to see it. Did you get anything good?

Koveh, I do see what your talking about and will fix that after the color looks good....that is an easy fix. Did you get anything that you liked from your advantage point?

Tim, here's my last shot before we packed up, about 1 hr after sunrise.
It's as far right as I could compose without including the dark shadow.

It was nice having you guys there to pass the time. :wavey:

Tim, I like the repost of the predawn shot. The one after sunrise is really nice as well.

Hey Tim, I like your repost. It was great to meet you and hang out waiting for the shot (that didn't really materialize). Guess we'll need to try again in the winter when that shadow isn't there. Cheers!
