Water flowing over ice in a small stream in the Columbia River Gorge, Oregon. The bright blue sky above created all of the color in the ice/water.
This is an image I have revisited and reprocessed several times. During previous attempts, I never quite felt like the image reflected my vision for the scene. I think I finally got it right on this one and I'm curious to hear what you think. All C&C are appreciated.

Hey Scott - I think this is exceptional. Abstract enough to let the imagination wander (and wonder....); and literal enough to provide context for what it is and appreciate that it's a scene we probably see often, but not in this way. Shares similarities with Jesse Speer's work, which his a high compliment.
The contrasting textures, graceful curves and well-arranged comp provide a lot of interest for such a relatively simple subject. The limited color palate is perfectly in tune with the subtlety and simplicity of the scene; it's eye-catching (particularly with the spectral highlights), but doesn't overpower the curves and textures, which are the heart of the image.
Thanks for the feedback Rick. I appreciate your detailed critique/analysis of this image. Thanks for the link to Jesse's website. Lots of amazing images there.
Certainly different and mind stimulating. I find myself trying to define and categorize the textures, flow and whole image... and can't. I like Rick's critique and enjoy taking in this unique view of ice. Nicely done Scott!

Beautifully done.
