Western Tanager
A few Western Tanagers spotted feeding on a nearby tree loaded with seeds. This male in his breeding plumage, a fav bird.

Lovely, Craig. The blue bg contrasts nicely with the yellows and reds. Did you go back to your 40d or are you slinging two bodies these days?

Thanks Marylynne, The 7D is at the "Hospital" after suffering from a fall! :frown:
Always make sure your camera is locked in place on a big lens.

I love this species. The colors are magnificent this time of year and this is a stellar example, perfect pose. The margins of the bird seem a touch variable. I'm finally back in town and the dust is settling a bit, give me a shout when you want to get together.
