Hi Corinna, Looks like you did well in spite of the uncooperative conditions. The first is really nice...what I would do is crop the bottom to eliminate most of the bright rock formation because it draws my eye right to it. The flow of the resulting image is great! The second one is terrific! Love the motion...way to work with the frequently annoying wind! The third is an interesting section of the wall but could use a substantial contrast boost. Love your comp in the 4th but the harsh light is killing it. Another good comp on 5 which I think would also benefit from an increase in contrast. There is a feast of texture in this! I might have moved my frame a bit more diagonally to the lower right. The shrub has interesting texture. The last has phenomenal flow and an appealing abstract quality. More contrast would make this sing!
I agree Pam's astute observations mostly.
The close up view from Dead Horse Point is well done and not the typical wide landscape image one usually sees from here.
Perhaps a slight burn of the brightest part of the rock in the foreground would suffice, as I like the shadows in both lower corners.
I would have liked #2 a lot more had the surrounding rocks and ground been sharp.
The wall of #3 is simply gorgeous, and a simple Levels correction will bring back some much needed contrast and really make it pop.
The last is wonderful! Good eye for seeing this flowing beauty, and the shutter speed you chose was just about perfect. My only suggestion would be to add some saturation or perhaps convert to b&w, as the colors here are pretty muted.
All in all, a very creative and out of the box series from the area. I tip my hat to your artistic eye!
Thanks for the feedback. I burned some spots of the white rock in #1, I increased the contrast on #3 and made changes to #6, both of which I am reposting.
Looks like you had a great week! I love the flowing water repost, and the windy flowers make a very cool image. I see what Pam means about the rock formation in #1. I think John's burning suggestion is a good one, and a little subtle dodging in the neighborhood of the river could really help keep the eye in the frame. It's a really beautiful shot!
These are all really nice but I love the windy flowers. Very unusual and painterly. I bet it would look fantastic as a canvas wrap. Glad you enjoyed your time in my "backyard"!
