The Pikes Peak Highway is posting "tentative" dates for early opening for photographers, etc, as follow-up to last years dates.
The dates listed this year are June 19th and September 18th, but no other information is available.
After a year of working with the city and Pikes Peak Highway staff last year, I was able to enjoy shooting at spot I thought would be a good sunrise photo location. I'm sure there are others to try, and am looking forward to being there early again this year.
I talked to a Clear Creek ranger Friday and he said that they are shooting for opening the road next Friday. He said that they had vehicles up ar summit lake that day. He sounded a little surprised they got that far. Hopefully it will be open sooner than later!
