Nikon MC-36 remote

This is a question for all the fellow Nikon users out there. I am having a problem using the MC-36 remote with my D700. When I first used it everything was fine, but now when I trip the shutter I get no display on the LCD screen and the number of exposures on the top control panel reads r10. After removing the remote the images will appear on the LCD. I thought I would try here before contacting Nikon.

Thanks,

Ed

I've never had a problem with mine. . . can't really think of what would cause this but maybe make a run through the in-camera menus and check the remote settings and make sure everything is what it should be

Thanks for the reply, Luke. I'll give that a try although at this point I am thinking it is the MC-36 because everything works as it should when I use the MC-30 remote.

Ed,

I never have had that problem with my D700 & MC-36. I thought it may be a connector issue on your camera, but it sounds like the other remote works well. A long shot, but maybe the batteries in the MC-36?

Hope you manage to fix it. Those darned things are expensive.
