Kansas Storm Photos for Larry
Here are a couple of photographs I got of the storm system that went through Kansas last Saturday and spawned the tornado that hit Reading, Kansas. I was very glad to be on the back side of this storm. I can't even imagine what it would be like to be in a place that was hit by a tornado.

This photo was a 4 shot pano of the storm system photographed south-east of the Geary County State Lake.

This photo was an attempt to capture the storm in a single frame (actually this is an HDR so it is multiple shots), but it doesn't do it justice.

And as an afterthought I put on a telephoto lens and snapped this photo of some of the structure of the storm clouds. I wish I would have done more of this. The way the weather forecast looks I may get a chance to try again (unfortunately).

WOW !!!!!!!! Those are fantastic shots Scott.. The magnitude of the storm is impressive and the form of the clouds is not like anything I've seen before. #2 with the flower is the foreground is great because the flower adds depth to the shot and #3's detail shows the diversity between the clouds billowing up and those blowing to the side.

Well done....

Great shots, Scott. I like them all but the pano is really nice!

Great light and clouds, Scott. The pano really shows the size of the storm. The telephoto view is different than the normal storm photos.

Some awesome storm clouds there.

Much better to be on the back side of something like that.
