With Memorial Day fast approaching I'm wondering what wonderous photo excursions y'all are heading out on. Personally, I'm headed out tomorrow afternoon to visit family in Tornado Alley. Maybe I can come up with some Stan Rose like cloud shots!Failing that, we're staying with one of my sisters who lives on the shores of a small lake chock full of bass. I might just spend the weekend drinking icy cold adult beverages and catchin fishies.
Sounds like a great plan Bill - the beer/bass part, I mean.
I've got friends coming in from Michigan and we're heading to Mexican Hat for a couple of days, then to Blanding for a few more days, then to Moab to finish off the week. Planning on shooting a few new locations, some old locations in new ways, and doing some night photography.
I'm leaving tomorrow for a week in Capitol Reef and the Grand Staircase. Hope I don't need snowchains on I-70.
This will be a group trip with some pretty unsavory characters.
I didn't even realize this was a holiday weekend, seeing as I don't have one of those 9-5 job thingy's. But I'm headed off tomorrow to Moab & Escalante, Utah & Page, AZ.
You guys are killing me! Who started this stupid thread anyway?

Wishing I was heading to some great locations! Alas, I am staying here as some friends suckered me into running the Bolder Boulder on Monday. So I'll be getting my gear ready for summer shooting, cleaning house, grilling, and enjoying a few adult beverages, also. Have a great weekend, everyone!
Have fun everyone! I'll be running the gallery and a tent across the street all weekend. If you are in Estes stop by to say hello. Grant, if you need some photos of that area when you return, let me know.
Erik's comment reminds me of the time Nat and Grant set up a booth together at a Moab art fair. Grant's parents showed up and wanted a nice picture, so they bought one - from Nat.
Erik, thanks for offering some of your photos! I may actually take you up on that, as I could really use them in a book I'm publishing. Try as I might, I just don't seem to have the rare ability that you have to get the photos I need for it. This will be a how-to book, and your photos will be used to demonstrate what not to do...
CAZ, at the art fair, I was selling tons of photos and Nat was despondent cause he had no sales. So my parents took pity on him and bought his photo. That's how I choose to remember it anyway! The fate of Nat's photo, though, was less than inspiring. Somehow, it ended up sitting on the bathroom floor and my nephew, while learning to potty-train, missed badly and peed all over it. Sorry Nat...

Hey Grant,
You gonna try and replicate some of Erik's work on this trip?
