As you know, Photoshop didn't get a 5.5 version in this last upgrade that Adobe did, but they did do a small upgrade to add in Remote Access. Right now the Remote technology is in diaper stage, but it will no doubt get better. The one thing that does work (and works well) is a new app for iPad owners called Adobe Nav. It's simple and very useful: you connect to Photoshop via your wireless network, and your custom tool palette shows up on the iPad. Doesn't sound like much until you USE it though! I made a palette with the tools I like to use most, and set up my iPad to my left propped up in its case. Now as I work, I don't have to hunt around within those tiny tool icons, I just tap the big button on the iPad next to my keyboard and ba da bing, there's my tool ready to use without ever moving my mouse. Like I said, doesn't sound like much until you use it. The best part is that I can have the tools on buttons in Adobe Nav that are usually buried, such as the Patch Tool. Nav lets you display them separately. That's huge.
It isn't worth running out to buy an iPad just for the Nav app obviously, but if you have one and CS5, update PS to the latest 12.0.4 version and have some fun. There are two other apps that Adobe released that I haven't tried, I believe they allow mixing of custom colors, etc. This is a small start to MUCH bigger things in the future, no doubt.
