Curly Creek Wonder
I wanted something really special from this trip and I think I found it with this image. This is a secret location on Curly Creek Washigton. Why is it secret you ask? Because I couldn't remember how to get here if I tried! We were on a back road on the way to Mt. Rainer and pulled in to this spot on an un-named side road. Jason went down to the creek bed and came back a few minutes later saying this was an incredible spot. Off we went down the steep embankment and this is the result. Comments and critique appreciated.

Well, umm....YEA IT'S FREAKING SPECIAL! Jack, this one blows me away. I am a total sucker for lush green scenes like this.

Jack, you really nailed that one. Gorgeous shot of the Pacific Northwest greenery. I grew up out there and miss that kind of scene. I don't miss the rain, fog, gloom and cold, however.

Indescribably beautiful location and image. Outstanding comp and exposure. Now ......... if only you could remember how you got there so you could tell the rest of us.

Love it, Jack! There are a lot of elements in here, but they don't clash or feel busy. That fan of smooth water is a gorgeous anchor for the image. I would be curious what it might look like with a somewhat bluer white balance, but the golden-green is great too.

That is a spectacular shot, Jack! Great scene and processing. I do agree with Jackson that maybe a touch less yellow? But, I wasn't there so I can't really say. I can't wait to see more of your trip is this is just the beginning. :toast:

Here is a very slightly cooler version.

Thanks for indulging me! Looking at these side by side, I prefer the original. The richer gold in the stream counts for more to me than the slightly lusher greens.

This is wonderful, Jack! Certainly an image to be printed and hung on your wall.

Wow!
What a dynamic composition! No nits from me at all. Just a sheer pleasure to view in this hard, parched land.

This is a beautiful image, Jack! I really like the little cascade in the foreground and all the interesting foliage on the boulder. Nice work.

Very lush greenery and a pour-over with a serrated rock edge- really nice find. Preference to the WB in the first image.
