It rained and snowed on the way up to Rainbow Curve this morning. That's as far as Trail Ridge is open right now. The snowplow driver we met later on said they're having a back and forth battle with the weather. It still looks like winter up there. This is a 195 second exposure at ISO 320, shot at 4:30 AM this morning. By the time I closed the shutter, this scene had disappeared in clouds and snow, so it was the only shot I got with this light. The lights are from the Estes Park area.

WOW! That was my instant, gut-level response when I first saw this. Original, magical, mysterious, and captivating, Great shot, Paul! A well-deserved reward for the effort involved.

Very moody and cool. The pinks are awesome and eerie! Well worth the effort (and the early wake up alarm!).
My mouth fell open for this one Paul! What a beautiful color palette, and all those shapes in the clouds and peaks and shadows really keep the eye interested.

Pretty surreal setting...like the colors and the lights in the distance.
Magical, mysterious, amazing! This definitely gets an, "Oh, Mommy!" One of the coolest shots around here in a long time. This could just be an Editor's Pick over on the Man and Nature gallery.
I've never even heard of the Rainbow Curve area, but I'll sure take Todd's word that this the best ever!
Simply amazing photography, Paul. I could stare at this for a long time. Outstanding work!
And Morris is right...this deserves an entry into the M&N gallery.
