Garden variety Columbine
It seems that wildflower season is, at the very least, a few weeks behind the norm (at least here on the Front Range). I've visited my usual haunts for wild flowers, and haven't seen much to shoot. I finally shot some Columbine that have bloomed in our garden.
I used a Sima 100mm Soft Focus Macro lens for this. For those who remember that far back, the Sima was a very cheap (both in price and build) T-mount adaptable lens that takes great soft focus shots. When it came out around 25 years ago, it was very popular. I still have the one I bought way back then, and occasionally remember to bring it out.

This is really nice, Bob. That soft focus effect works so well here and knowing that it was not produced in PS makes it that much more appealing to me. Love the comp too.

I remember that! Always a dreamy effect and you put it to perfect use here. Beautiful shot!

Wonderful macro shot with a nice effect. I wonder how it would look with a little darkening of the corners with the vignette tool.

I agree..the soft focus here really makes this image.

This is really sweet, Bob! I had completely forgotten about soft focus lenses up until now.
Hope you put it to use again in the future!

Thanks everyone!
For all the high tech gear I have (you oughta see the inside of my Jeep), when it comes time for photography, I still like to do so some things "old school".
