Tulip Field Before a Storm (and Woodburn tulip report)
I was just messing around out at the tupip fest, I don't think this is any great art, but I thought it was interesting. I took this moments before the thunderstorm in the BG engulfed the tulip felds. I thought the filtered sunlight and the thunderstorm gave this an interesting feel. I have one without the people, but I think they add something.

Report: The tulips are just now looking pretty good, They will peak next week I suspect, after this weekend's nasty weather.

Zack, if ever there were an appropriate post card for the festival and especially this farm in particular, you seem to have captured it. It is hard to really tell, however, the foreground flowers appear to be blurry. What was your aperture and approximate focus distance?

An interesting thing for this setting would be to use a ND filter to slow the shutter to the point that they windmill showed some circular motion.

I was about 100 ft away zoomed all the way to 200mm, I was already shooting at f/20, but in spite of that the FG flowers are still a bit soft. Unfortunately the windmill is stationary, so it wouldn't allow for any slow shutter action.

I agree with AJ's post card comment. I think this is a pretty cool shot. I might crop about half way between the top of the blade and the top of the frame...

I think the comp works well here...and that light is really cool, especially against the yellow tulips...
