Ah the beauty of it all....
We spent 11 days over in North Carolina, riding the motorcycles and hiking to waterfalls. What a bee-uu-ti-ful area! My favorite road for both was Wayah Road outside of Franklin, NC. This is a shot from that area.

Beautiful creek, Dottie, I bet you have a bunch more you can share.

I love western North Carolina and try to take a photo trip out there every year. You are right; it is beautiful. I've spent a lot of time in the Highlands/Franklin area but I don't think I've been on Wayah Road. Based on your photo, I'll have to put it on my to-do list. That's a great looking stream.

I'm glad you had a good time and I'm looking forward to seeing more pics.

Really nice diagonal lines Dottie. I'll have to put this area on my list.

Thanks,
Rod

Three other pics from the area, these are at Dry Falls on Hwy 64 from Franklin to Highlands, as Bryan mentions above. This is called Dry Falls because you can walk behind the falls and stay dry, well basically you can, but your lens won't.

Another angle

And wide angle. If you have never been in the area, you need to go. I plan on going back in the fall, hopefully. This place holds second to my favorite spot of all, Buffalo River area in Arkansas!

Very nice, Dottie. I'm glad to see Dry Falls open again. They have been redoing the parking area and the falls were inaccessible during my last two visits. If you do make it back this fall, I suggest looking into the area around Brevard as well, especially the Pisgah National Forest and the BRP. Also Kevin Adams has the best guide book I've found for Western NC and has a great fold-out map with marked waterfall locations. His webpage is http://kadamsphoto.com/catalog/waterfalls-north-carolina-p-37.html.

Is this too far away for a CSNP gathering?
