We ARE lucky to live in the PNW for sure! Jack, I like the comp and the setting of the rhododendron. My first reaction on viewing the image was that it looks stark– seems over-saturated and with too much contrast. Looks like a fine outing and great timing to hit the bloom in prime. Got more images from the trip to show us?
It's truly a photography candy store. There are so many great photographers in this area; I wonder if sometimes the scene makes the photographer more than the photographer makes the scene???
I love the contrast this has between the upper left and lower right halves. It gives a diagonal flow that matches well with the more vertical trunks and rhodie. That lone guy towards the bottom grabs my eye, and you might play with a crop to compare (definitely no big deal though).
not to worried about this one folks--its more of a snap shot, just celebrating where we live.. certainly not a fine art print! I really do appreciate all the comments... I am always learning/
regards,
Jack

I agree that we are lucky to live in the PNW. The photographic subjects are endless. Another benefit is that there are lots of photo opportunities close to home, no matter where you live.
