Maroon Lake report
It's still there. (Hopefully my laptop post-processing doesn't look too atrocious.)

Wow, I see no green whatsoever in those aspens. Is that normal for this time of year? Great photo, TC.

Bret, there is still so much freakin' snow in the mountains around here, it's something to behold. And we didn't get all the AZ dust that sped up the melt-off and looked so horrible, like the last two years. This hot weather will start things moving in the right direction, but I won't be surprised if we're still trudging through some snow on the higher trails into July. At least in northern CO.

I was there Friday evening and was impressed by the amount of snow on the Bells, however I was depressed about the small amount of snow around the lake itself after having heard we should expect winter conditions from the USFS. The squashed dried out grasses were not inspiring. So I didn't wait for the morning and drove back across Independence Pass which was truly spectacular with its 8ft-15ft snow banks, the most snow I remember seeing up there since back in 1983 at this time of year.
You got good light on the peaks as wells as some good clouds as is typical for you. Friday and Saturday were clear blue days with a lot of wind, another reason to head back to the Arkansas for some kayaking time

Still looking pretty grim and wintery! Nice light and comp, Todd. The sky looks a tad funny to me, little on the purple side.

Can't wait to have that crazy northern Colorado snow floating my raft! I'm glad I'm boating in June instead of hiking this year.

Thanks for the update from the high country. It's cool to see the Bells in spring transition.

Wonderful sky in that shot Todd. Great capture. I need to get up there.

I'm getting a slightly funky sky - purple, but blue in the reflection. Could be my monitor...
Otherwise, I like!

Thanks for the update and the cool pic.
The sky and the snow colors are pretty funky, but I'm sure you'll fix that later.

Yeah, sorry 'bout the colors, my laptop is way off, so I usually try to refrain from posting from the road these days. I'll fix and repost if I find time. Going a million miles an hour around here lately!

Todd, that image looks like it is going to be amazing. As someone else mentioned the colors are a bit strange and the contrast a bit strong but I'm sure when you get this back on your calibrated monitor that you'll bring it back to life and have a real winner.

Thanks for the report, Todd. The colors are definitely funky, but the light is good.

Ditto on what happened to the color in the sky! Laptops lie. Great light and comp!

I like the purple sky, but it should be hazier...
