Primal
A primal bison image from yesterday - I made just a few images and let this ornery bull get back to laying in the mud or whatever he was doing. 600mm on a window mount, while closely monitoring the tail for any signs that he may attack my truck.

What a disagreeable looking old chap. Nice shot. Love those eyes.

Glad to hear that was through your 600mm, Dave! But even so.... the tight crop really seems to emphasize the size and Pleistocene weirdness of the animal. having that eye so close to the edge makes it look even more surreal and wild.

Love the close crop and the sepia. Like the fact you can see the whites of the eye as well. Lot of power in this image.

Great shot! I'd have been worried if he was looking straight into the lens.

Woah! I'm going to have nightmares about that...

This is excellent!! Love the field of view you've presented here. The title says it all, too!

Great comp. I really like the way you filled the frame.

Dave, this is one of the coolest bison photos of yours EVER! Wow! Great framing, snout AND eye in focus with a 600mm (???), just spectacular!

Not your typical Bison- I like it! Way to go Dave!

Thanks y'all. It was funny how he looked right at me and rotated his head - pretty strong body language - then he started moving a bit. I try hard not to push animals and spent very little time there. There's no sepia toning; the color of the mud on his face has a yellowish color compared to his fur.

He definitely has that "look" in his eye. Nice capture.

Great shot. This one begs for a caption..."If I want your opinion, I'll stomp it out of you."

Dirty, mangey, mean. In fact, downright intimidating. Great capture, Dave!
