Paint, not Storms...
Went up to Elizabeth late this afternoon hoping for a storm on the Palmer Divide--and one did form above my head, only to promptly get killed by all the dry warm air above :frown:
So, to salvage my drive, i detoured down the Calhan Highway (why they call dusty rutted roads highways is beyond me...) and checked out the Paint Mines at sunset. The mines always got somethin to photograph.

3) The blues were particularly nice in the shadows

4) Peaceful after sunset--i was the only car in the lot today
Not many flowers this year--lots of Miller Moths though
Any keepers, let me know!

I'm shocked and amazed that I STILL haven't been out to this place. Cool shots, Stan. You're right about those beautiful blues in the shadows. I like these in the order presented.

Thanks for letting me know about the wildflowers. I was going to go there yesterday afternoon, too. You should have called me! But, with no clouds or flowers, I'm glad I just went to Whispering Pines near Franktown. I like all of these, and maybe the first one the best.

Great images! Really like the warm and blue tones in that first image. Nice detail in the second one.

Amazing shots. The colors are great!

I love the colors and light in the first one, Stan, but #2 is my favorite as I really like abstracts. In this one I see a running man.

#s 1 and 2 are really terrific, Stan. I'm with Todd, I need to get to this place.

I also like #'s 1 & 2 the best. Doesn't appear to be the easiest place to photograph, but you did pretty well.
Hope you make a return visit or more!

Another vote for #1 and #2 - great series Stan .

These are great, Stan. I especially like the hint of blue in the shadows and how it complements the warm light.
