Can I please get feedback on sharpening software or plugins for sharpening for print...or, a resource for good tutorials for sharpening for print in cs5.

Gracias!

Scott

I use PK Sharpener and have been exceedingly pleased with it. It has amazed me with the degree of sharpness I've been able to attain. I don't use it for web sharpening, just print sharpening. IMO, the documentation is not the best, but usable. I'm still using the older version - been lazy and haven't upgraded as yet. I have no experience with Nik Sharpener.

I have used PhotoKit Sharpener (http://www.pixelgenius.com) since it first became available and think it does a great job. I use it for capture sharpening for scans processed with Digital Ice and for output sharpening for web, inkjet and contone printing of both scans and digital capture images.

I use NIK and Topaz--In Focus. In Focus sometimes works better than NIK.....but Topaz Define is not worth it IMHO

Never tried PK

Scott,
I highly recommend Real World Image Sharpening by Jeff Schewe and the late Bruce Fraser. It covers all the major software packages. I believe the 2nd edition will cover CS5, but if not, CS4's tools are close enough. I use Lightroom (which incorporated a lot of PKS sharpening approaches a few releases ago), and learned a lot about how to better use LR's sharpening capabilities.
