AZ fire smoke
We'bve been getting a lot of smoke from the fires in AZ; the wind is blowing it straight towards us. Monday night the moon was bright red. Here's a typical sunset over the Jemez Mountains from Tuesday night.

and a little closer...
I noticed a little posterization around the sun in these small versions - it's not there in the full size images in Lightroom.

Simple, and beautiful! I especially like the first one, which shows more of what's going on. Here's a photo I took in the San Juan Mountains in Colorado on Saturday - the mountains were so full of smoke that day that you couldn't even see past one mountain ridge. The smoke lingered around for a couple more days (not so bad) and finally cleared out on Tuesday. Is it still bad in Santa Fe?

Today broke clear and smoke free in Los Alamos! :jump: Man, it was getting hard to breath. It appears to be going south and I would guess that ABQ is still inundated.

I'm hoping the hurricane off the west coast of Mexico pumps moisture up through AZ/NM to put out those fires!!!

This is the first time I've been happy to have "severe clear" weather conditions. This is our first day with with a blue sky here in Taos, and I'm loving it!
