Spring have finally arrived to Scandinavia - somewhat later than normally. Found this obliging grebe-couple last weekend, and they let me get quite a few shots. Courtship display seems to be over, but they let me see greeting, nest-building and mating.
Unfortunately light have been very absent these last days, so I had to go with iso800.

Hi Helge
Never seen this species in breeding plumage (rare winter visitor to the UK) I guess some might have preferred a side view of the pair however I really like this angle with the back of one and the other almost looking at you as if to say 'do you mind this is private'. You have caught an intimate moment and I think it works really well!

Hi Helge
Dito Davids comments, i think its a great NH record.
Some might say the BG is a bit distracting, but this is how it was.
Would love to see them in this plumage for real.
Major.

Hi Helge,
Sorry to be a bit boring but I can't really add anymore to what has already been said.
From a nit picking angle, agree with what's been said, as I'm sure you're well aware of. Saying that, take what you can. I really love the low angle here. I haven't seen one of these at all, so thanks for sharing! Graeme
Would have prefered a cleaner bg, but they decided to perform for you in that location so not a lot could be done there, I too like the pose from the pair, a bit different and it seems to work, nicely done.
