can I still use a polarizing filter with it? I've been looking at things people have written, and they say basically "it's difficult" but apparently not impossible, but I don't know how difficult. Does anyone use a polarizing filter with a rotating lens? This is a Canon 55-250 lens. Thank you.

Sure, you can still use a polarizer. Use manual focus, then adjust polarizer, shoot. :wavey:

Yep! What Bill said. Actually I usually use manual focus for landscape even on lens that do not rotate.

Or use autofocus and tweak the polarizer.

Either way, you probably won't be using the polarizer in a fast changing situation or for action photos, so it shouldn't be much of an issue. Just try to stay consistent in whatever method you pick - it makes for a consistent workflow in the field.
