Chase County falls...
last year

...and this year.

I got out to the the park last evening and to see the Butterfly Milkweed and to see what else might be blooming and also stopped to see the falls. This is as low as I have ever seen the falls, in fact the only water is actually trickeling into a crack about 20 feet above the ledge and coming out from the rocks. Yet as dry as it has been, the tallgrass prairie is as green as ever, but maybe a little slower growing than usual. I sure hope it rains soon.

The water fluidity is about right. I often think the "blurring" of moving water is overdone.
Great detail in the shadow areas under the falls!
I wonder about playing with the water int he foreground. Sometimes darkening slightly brings about a pleasant change.
Good work as usual and thanks for posting.

Hey Ken, Great comparison shots of the falls. What a difference a year makes !! It seems like the water level was closer to the bottom shot when we were there. But, then again, it was the dead of winter and very little water was moving anywhere. I think most of it was frozen.
